What is a web site without links?
-
Gryphon
is the excellent stringed instrument store where
I teach lessons. They sell, repair, teach, and talk
to anyone.
- My daughter Molly
is a pretty fair musician herself, now with her own
web site.
- I do many of my performances with Bluegrass
Stomp. We do quite a few weddings, private parties
and even contra dances and square dances.
- The California
Bluegrass Association is California's biggest
BG organization and they put on the big Grass Valley
Bluegrass Festival on Father's Day weekend.
- The Redwood Bluegrass
Association puts on great bluegrass concerts in
Mountain View, usually with top bands from back East.
-
Frank Ford is Gryphon's co-owner and repair guru.
He has a web site with repair and instrument care
tips. Visit frets.com
just to see the pictures, if nothing else.
-
I am the music editor for Fiddler
Magazine. Pick up a copy at Gryphon or order
from their web page.
-
John Kael's BluegrassLyrics.com
has the lyrics to a lot of songs and they're pretty
accurate. He concentrates on the standards and the
big three: Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, and the
Stanley Brothers. What more could you ask for?
-
Ken Torke makes the best picks for bluegrass guitar
or mandolin. Find out how on mandoliner.com.
He is also in a local bluegrass band called the
Mighty
Crows.
- Ceolas,
the home of celtic music on the internet, since 1994.
Want to know something about a fiddle tune? Andrew
Kuntz has compiled an amazing index of 55,000
fiddle tunes from all genres on this site.
- The Santa Clara
Valley Fiddler's Association has jams the first
Sunday of every month. And you can find out about
other jams from their web site.
- I get all of my books printed at CopyFactory.com
in Palo Alto. Great prices and they go the extra mile
when needed. On El Camino not very far from Gryphon.
- Go to the Brittany
Haas site for the schedule of one of the greatest
fiddlers around.
